This is a small break down of the Elemental Signature. This applies to plants and how it would correlate to our bodies.

-The 4 states of aggregates

  • – The energy or phenomenology that is akin to the element in question:
  • – Earth element or earth energy performs an earth-like function – Dense, solid, heavy, hard, and stable
  • – Water element or water energy performs a water-like function – Liquid, moist, with adhesive powers, viscosity, and surface
  • tension, ripples/waves
  • – Fire element or fire energy performs a fire-like function – Hot or warm, burning, in the form of a flame
  • – Air element of air energy performs performs an air-like function – Light as a feather, hollow, in stable, always in motion

Anthroposophy, natural means to optimize physical and mental health and well-being, assigns the elements to the plant parts as follows:

Earth

  • Mineral like substances, rough stems, hard to shape/modify
  • Can be bitter herbs
  • Examples: – Rue
    Cramp Bark
Any herb/plant that we’re using it’s external properties or roots
  • Red Trillium (Beth Root)
  • Bloodroot
  • Goldenseal

Water

  • Soft, watery structures
  • We see this in plants that maintain moisture, sometimes in dry conditions
  • We see this in plants that maintain moisture, sometimes in dry conditions
  • Aloe (it grows in the desert, but remains hydrated)– Succulents
    Cacti
  • This can even include plants grown by water or submerged in water– Chickweed

Fire

  • Plant’s ability to endure fire, heat, or frost.
  • Flame like shapes
  • Pungency, warm scents or warming properties and red/orange color
  • This goes back to those plants that ‘warm’ us or give a burning
sensation when we taste it– Cayenne
    Tumeric
    Mace

Air

  • Hairy, downy structures, hollow stems, roots, flower heads
  • Air pockets of any kind and finely cut leaves that look like feathers
  • You’d see this element in many hallucinogenic herbs or those that
are said to relax/elevate you– Chamomile
Lavender– Associated with plants that use wind pollination or have flying seeds You see this with Dandelions before they mature into the yellow
    bulbs

Ether

  • Relates to the mind, or neurological activity/stimulation, even spiritual
    stimulation
  • Enhances mental capacities
  • Opens nasal passages and ears
  • Plants with this element aid in spiritual communications outside the
    physical world.
  • the Fifth Element is associated with our hearts, our sixth sense and our physical senses and our brain. An excess could be exemplified by too much day dreaming, being “out of it”, being nervous, disassociated and with a lack of presence.

It’s said to be a combination of all 4 elements in unison. –
