Establishing Roots in Our Community
Help Us Reach Our Goal
Donate to Our Campaign to Build a Community Center
What You're Supporting
Our work to identify and act upon the most pressing health needs in the community we serve. We have come to realize that it is critical to address the root causes of these needs, which are known as the social determinants of health.
These are the social, economic, and physical conditions in which people live, work, and age that impact population health outcomes and risks, including neighborhood and built environment, economic stability, health and health care, education, and social and community context.
Our work extends to bridge that gap.
What we will create:
- Mobile clinics for health screenings or improved access to services
- Support for at-risk persons with chronic disease management
- Community health education programs
- Trans-Affirming Herbal Care.
- Increased Holistic Health & Wellness Approaches to STI, STD, & HIV Prevention.
- Participation in community coalitions/partnerships to address community health needs

Racial and ethnic disparities in pain treatment are not intentional misdeeds: health care providers do not decide that some groups deserve pain relief while others should suffer. Instead, inequities are the product of complex influences, including implicit biases that care providers don’t even know they have.
A majority of African Americans have low levels of trust in the health care system, expressing much less confidence in doctors and hospitals than white people.
The Effect of Racial Differences on Ability to Afford Prescription Medications
African Americans reported marked greater difficulty in affording prescription medications than did white patients, even after accounting for income, education, health insurance status, and comorbidities. The inability of African Americans to afford prescription medications may be better predicted by perceived income inadequacy than more traditional measures of socioeconomic status.
-Reported by the National Library of Medicine: 2018
Limited Care
More than 50% of patients not filling prescription medications were due to being treated unfairly while receiving health care.
Financial Barriers
Another 61% reported inadequate income to meet basic needs and how this was a deciding factor when filling prescriptions or seeking care.
Distrust with Medicine
More than 38% find it difficult to find a doctor or care provider who shares the same background and experience as them.
It all starts with you.
We're launching our Free Virtual & Local Herbal Clinic Program!

Changing the Narrative
This center will give us the space to assist our clients and community by empowering them to make choices that improve their health.
We look to not only create, but support, a coalition of health and wellness that allows the use of resources that were once limited for the overall improvement & quality of health.

Rebuilding Trust & Confidence
In cases of medical ambiguity — as when pain isn’t caused by an obvious physical condition such as traumatic injury — providers rely more heavily on their own judgment, which can be influenced by personal perceptions and biases.
We desire to create a space where our clients not only feel heard about their ailments, but feel confident speaking to their doctors about changes they’re experiencing.

Providing Resources
This campaign will also aid in the goal of increasing Holistic Health & Wellness Approaches to both STI, STD, & HIV Prevention AND Trans-Affirming Herbal Care.
Encouraging our community with creating their own remedies, & to see advocates for their health.
We are open 5 Days a Week, excluding holidays.
